Internship fair

Dear Gyrini,

We are the workgroup for the coming internship fair, helped organized by Dr. Antonio Luchicchi.

We have heard the struggle of finding internships, so we are so excited to host the first ever internship fair at the beloved Tegenstelling on Tuesday 14th November.

The event is particularly a great opportunity for bachelor students to speak to researchers, alongside Masters students, to voice their problems in finding internships, as well as hearing helpful tips and ideas to ensure you successfully find an internship most suited to you.

And even better – all this over free drinks and food.
The event will be from 17.00-22.00.

As the leaves paint the world with a vibrant palette of reds and golds, there’s no better way to savor the magic of autumn than with a glass of rich, flavorful Bock Beer.
The changing seasons call for a change in your brew, and Bock Beer is the perfect companion for this cozy and colorful time of year. The smooth and full-bodied taste warms you from the inside out, making it the ideal choice for chilly autumn evenings.
And that it will be, the Alcoholaat has already begun searching for the best leaves to decorate the Tegenstelling with. Because the floor will not be recognizable after all the leaves have covered the ground.

Ski Trip!

Dear members, in March 2024 it is finally time for the annual ski trip again, and of course the preparations are well on their way. We have selected an amazing location for this year’s trip: LA PLAGNE! This beautiful ski-area, located in France has lots of slopes for both experienced and beginning wintersport enthousiasts. Besides that, the area is known for its lively après-ski scene, with loads of bars and clubs to dance the night away. Luckily, the accommodation is located very close to the ski lifts, so the next morning we will be on the slopes in no time! There will be a lot of skiing and après-skiing but the Wintersportcie will also organize some nice activities to do with the whole group, so it is guaranteed that it will be an amazing week again.  

So do you love skiing/snowboarding or have you always wanted to know what the hype was about? Then don’t hesitate to join us on our amazing ski-trip! The trip will take place from the 2nd of March till the 9th of March and the costs will be €599,00. This price includes your stay, transportation and skipass (it does not include skirent!).

Canal Cruise

We are the Master’s committee of Gyrinus Natans, the study association for your Master. We organize several events for Masters students throughout the study year, and on the 29th of September, we are organizing the Canal Cruise! It’s almost time for our annual lunch lecture again! On the 20th of September we have organized a lecture with a thrilling subject! Read more below…

Dr. Jeroen Kool will be discussing Venom Research! From toxins to venoms, what happens to the body and much more! This Research in which he uses advanced analytical tools to characterize all the protein toxins in venoms, and measure their biological activities to make correlations with their devastating pathologies in the body that can occur after a snakebite.

We hope this topic is right up your alley! The lecture will take place in the W&N building, and will be from 12:45 until 13:30. We will announce the location soon! DJ Course

Always wanted to be the life of the party? Well, we might not have a dancing course, but a DJ’ing course that we can give you. Join us the 20th of September in the Spiegelzaal or WN D-103 and we’ll  teach you everything you need. Come twist some knobs, increase the BPM and up that sweet sweet bass. It’s right next to our bar so enjoy a nice drink while transitioning some songs flawlessly, or just listen to your friends try their hand at DJ’ing
