Start off your new schoolyear with the annual Looping Louie Tournament at the Tegenstelling on the 13th of October!
The game works by using Louie the pilot to knock down your opponents’ chickens while protecting your own.
Sign up at the borrel with a partner to show off your skills and become the next Looping Louie Champion to win a prize!

Globalcie is a committee that aims to help specifically international students to transition smoothly into their new student life as well as ensure their uptake to our student association.

Globalcie’s first activity this year is the Workshop that is intended for the newcomers in Amsterdam that may need some help while getting used to this cosy city. The workshop will cover many points such as getting a BSN, finding a GP, opening a Dutch bank account, health insurance, public transport and many more! If you’re slightly overwhelmed with everything, feel free to sign up!

Welcome to the thrilling start of your university journey, where a brand new chapter awaits each and every one of you! Some of you have already met new people during the Introduction week, but some did not have that chance yet. Allow us to introduce you to the concept of first-year groups!

Picture this: you’ll be placed into a group with other first-years, guided by enthusiastic mentors that will let you experience the joys that Gyrinus natans has to offer. You can visit activities, social drinks and get familiar to the VU with your group. Need advice on your studies? Look no further, as your mentors are also there to support you in all academic matters.

Dear borrelaars,

Past year is one with ups and downs. We had our fair share of broken arms, hearts and sinks, as well as the death of the pride of gyrinus: hamster Bob. But we also had beautifull moments. Our gorgeous Stelling can stay open for longer, we have the addition of the Budelse Bieren Borrel and we’re looking forward to a new exciting introduction. To forget the bad and celebrate the good, we have to end this year with a banger.

During the evening a delicious Indonesian rice table will be served. It is prepared by our very own old gyrini and VU employees. You definitely don’t want to miss this, so an eye on the socials for the sign-up link!
